Tim Fairchild

Tim received his BSc (Hons) from the University of Western Australia and completed his PhD in carbohydrate metabolism at the same institution. Tim has worked in private industry as a consultant for Metabolic Medicine (Perth, WA) and has been teaching at the College and University level since 1998. Prior to coming to Murdoch Universtiy Tim spent three and a half years as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Exercise Science at Syracuse University, New York. His area of research relates to carbohydrate metabolism and how this is associated with the development of obesity and type 2 diabetes. In recent years, Tim's research has branched into biopharmaceuticals with specific emphasis on the development of orally-administrable therapeutics.
