Vanessa Bussau

Vanessa is a Lecturer in Exercise Physiology and Sports Science. Vanessa grew up in the south-west (Karridale) and then moved to Perth to study at UWA. There she completed her undergraduate degree with Honours in the School of Sports Science, Exercise and Health before commencing a PhD in Exercise Physiology. Vanessa's research on type 1 diabetes and exercise has been published in leading international Diabetes journals. Vanessa is passionate about promoting health and has enjoyed roles in corporate health and wellness, together with establishing her own exercise physiology private practice. She intends to use this varied experience to each students both the theory and essentials of exercise science together with practical 'real world' skills. In her spare time Vanessa enjoys spending time with her husband Marcus, friends and family. She also likes to keep active - in particular taking Lexie (the puppy) to the beach or river.
